Dishcloth – diagonal knit pattern

Use 100% dishcloth cotton with 3.75mm or US 5 needles. Using smaller needles gives this dishcloth a tighter stitch so it doesn’t stretch as much when wet.

The diagonal knit dishcloth was the first pattern I learned. I was visiting my parents and asked mom to show me how. My first attempt produced a not quite square dishcloth, but eventually I worked out the technique and I’m happy with the results.
