Food Storage

There has been much discussion and concern raised about storing and heating food in plastic containers. As someone who prides herself in taking a bag lunch to work, I was guilty of doing this regularly!

When I heard of the possible hazards of chemicals leaching into my food, I quickly switched over to glass containers. I watched the flyers and stocked up whenever they went on sale.

Now I have a cupboard in my kitchen designated solely to my collection of glass storage containers. One of my favorite things!

I love the variety of sizes from one cup to 12 cup portions – great for individual to family size meals. Large batches of food can be portioned out and frozen until needed.

Comparison Shopping Tip:  I have found the Anchor Hocking brand has lids made of a harder plastic that eventually cracks. The Pyrex brand has lids made of a softer plastic and I have never had one crack even right out of the freezer. You can however purchase replacement lids for your Anchor Hocking glass containers at a reasonable price.
