Skillet Brownies

You may shy away from making these amazing brownies in a cast iron skillet, but if you pour the batter into a hot skillet you do not have to worry about it sticking.

Serve warm with ice cream.

You may shy away from making these amazing brownies in a cast iron skillet, but if you pour the batter into a hot skillet, you do not have to worry about it sticking. Serve warm with ice cream.

Equipment

  • 1 8-inch cast iron skillet

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Butter
  • ¼ cup Cocoa powder
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup All-purpose flour
  • 1/8 tsp Salt
  • ½ cup Chopped walnuts
  • ½ cup Chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° F.
  • In an 8-inch cast iron skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in cocoa completely, then remove from heat.
  • In a medium bowl, beat eggs until frothy. Add sugar, flour, salt and walnuts. Don’t stir yet.
  • Pour cocoa mixture over top and stir all together. (Set skillet back on stove at medium heat to pour batter into when mixed.)
  • Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Pour batter back into the hot cast iron skillet.
  • Place in preheated oven.
  • Bake for 25 minutes or until edges start to pull away from sides of skillet.
  • A wooden toothpick should come out moist with no batter clinging to it.
