Garden Journal May 9, 2019

Vegetable garden with marigolds planted along the border.

On Monday, I planted three short rows of Romaine lettuce since lettuce likes the cool soil. I also planted a couple short rows of beets just to see how they do.

We have had beautiful weather on Prince Edward Island this week, but the temperature is still a little cool, especially at night, so I will hold off on the rest of the beets, the onions and carrots until at least next week.

My garden gets full sun so it won’t take long to warm up. This year my garden will have Romaine lettuce, beets, onions and carrots in alternating rows, potatoes, cabbage, peppers and tomatoes.

It won’t be long and it will look like this!
