Homemade Pizza
Homemade pizza is always a treat and it’s a fun meal to prepare with the whole family.

1 stand mixer
1 14-inch pizza pan
INGREDIENTS FOR THE CRUST:
- 1 Tbsp Quick active dry yeast
- 1 cup Lukewarm water 105°F – just above body temperature
- ½ Tbsp Granulated sugar
- 2 ½ cup All-purpose flour
- 1-2 Tbsp Olive oil or vegetable oil
- ½ tsp Salt
- Cornmeal
INGREDIENTS FOR THE PIZZA (amounts are approximate):
- 1 cup Pizza sauce or marinara sauce
- 2 cups Mozzarella cheese grated
- 1 cup Meat – pepperoni ham, chicken, sausage, etc.
- 2 cups Vegetables – onions peppers, mushrooms, pineapple, olives, hot peppers, etc.
Make the dough
Set up stand mixer with dough attachment.
In stand mixer bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Turn mixer on to lowest setting to stir. Let sit a few minutes while yeast activates.
Add oil, flour and salt and mix thoroughly on lowest setting until dough cleans off the inside of bowl.
Cover and let rise 20 minutes while you are preparing pizza toppings.
Prepare the pizza toppings
Assemble the pizza
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Grease pizza pan and dust with cornmeal.
When dough has risen for about 20 minutes, spray hands with cooking spray and spread dough on prepared pizza pan to the edges.
Spread pizza sauce over top of dough with the back of a spoon.
Optional – sprinkle additional Italian seasoning over sauce.
Evenly sprinkle grated cheese on top of sauce.
Top evenly with meat and vegetables, keeping about an inch in the middle free of toppings.
Bake for about 30 minutes in the oven or until cheese and crust are nicely browned.
