Dishcloth - Basket Weave Knitting Pattern

Use 100% cotton with 3.75 mm or US 5 needles. (I use a smaller needle to make a tighter stitch so the dishcloth doesn't stretch out as much when it's wet.)

Instructions

  • Cast on 39 sts.
  • Rows 1-4: Knit.
  • Row 5 - 8: K3, *K3P3* to last 6 sts, K6.
  • Row 9 - 12:   K3, *P3K3* to end.
  • Rows 13 - 60: Repeat rows 5-12 six times.
  • Rows 61 - 65: Knit. You can knit four rows, but knitting five rows puts the casting off on the back of the dishcloth.
  • Cast off and weave in ends.
