Brown Sugar Sauce
This "not too sweet" brown sugar sauce takes desserts such as gingerbread, blueberry cake or spiced applesauce cake to a whole new level. It’s great on ice cream, too!

- 1 cup Brown sugar packed
- 1 ½ tbsp All-purpose flour
- 1/8 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Boiling water
- 1 tbsp Butter
- ½ tsp Vanilla
In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, flour and salt.
Add boiling water and cook over medium low heat, stirring constantly until thickened.
Stir in butter and vanilla.
Serve warm over dessert or ice cream.
This stores well for several days, if it lasts that long!
Reheat on stove top or put in the microwave for a few seconds.
